This morning, I found a stack of paper in between two books.
Every sheet presents a chart.
Neutrophils and white blood cell counts, platelets and red blood counts too.
I can read every day’s number.
Folded together; I found many sheets like this.
Ordinarily; days make months.
Then; one month. Two months.
Issshhh.
Seven.
Numbers that total the blood history.
Tic Toc.
Days go and it can;
Drop.
The daily count during my son’s cancer journey.
In a twenty hour period; believe me, our blood’s health can change dramatically.
The daily samples were taken from a catheter, peripherally inserted into my son’s veins.
That tube dropping out of his arm, was there for the totality of his oncology treatment.
The statistics indicated his inner destruction and his recuperation.
These digits could also signal if a transfusion was needed.
A body transference; it’s extraordinary.
Take from one body and insert it/in another.
Reflecting on this matter; I feel tingles on my arms, the small hairs erect.
It all seems so distant but still way too familiar. I get flashes.
Oncology flashes.
Distressed transfusions.
One. Two. Three.
Twenty. Forty.
And some more.
No time to wait. No time for the body to naturally generate.
Add platelets or white blood cells. Fast.
It was taken from one person and given to another.
Medical advancements are simply amazing.
Modern equipment, new techniques, contemporary medication; I witnessed their support very often.
Oh! How we have evolved.
Today’s medical technology can separate and isolate, evaluate and transfuse.
Supported by all the progressive medical treatments, I know these were also divine miraculous times.
It’s all science on paper but I know; it’s not only knowledge and data.
All over, people suffer for different reasons.
Almost everywhere: hope, strength and peace are desperately needed.
In critical times, there’s no time for natural generation.
So, I reflect: I wish I could transfuse mine.
Oh how we haven’t yet figured.
How to transfer a profound loving understanding —- instantly.
It won’t take away the required resilience, but it would help.
I’m no life expert.
I still don’t know exactly how nightmares become tolerable.
I’m unsure.
How heart transplants actually take place.
I can’t explain why our bodies can produce harmful components.
But I can relate to heartbreaks, to reality clashes and dreams being shattered.
I question why I can’t transfer a helpful truth.
I’m no scientist, true.
I’m no Doctor either.
I have faith.
I know for sure: there’s a big energy working all around us.
I believe in God and loving resolutions.
For those who need, for those who don’t have much; I wish it was possible to give some of mine.
Transplant. Transfuse. Some resilience, some faith.
Like that chart I stumbled upon;
To improve; a frequent inner observation, a direction is needed.
And a certain balance is key.
Miracles happen. & Love is the answer: all through.
